High-quality photography is the basis for convincing images but just the basis. Post-processing is standard today, especially in the fashion industry.
It is usually not about creating an unrealistic ideal, but dealing with the existing restrictions of a photo shoot. Many shootings are made under time and budget pressure and no model is perfect. And how easily does it happen that a breeze engulfs the hair, a necklace flips over, ... It would simply be too time-consuming to achieve the optimum already during the shoot.
With professional post production I eliminate defects and intensify the desired expression. So that the image effect is increased but the look remains natural.
